About Us

Aathi Yoga Association (AYA) is a registered charity organization (in the province of Ontario, Canada) that is dedicated to transmitting the science of yoga to the public to help them enhance their health and well being, all from within.  With the blessing of our teacher Mr. Jeyarajeen, the organization was established in the year of 2013 by a group of Yoga graduates from the prestigious Annamalai University (India) – Canada campus.

Our 1-year diploma study consisted of various aspects of the science and ancient wisdom of Yoga, how they relate to Anatomy and physiology of the human system, and how they can not only be applied, but benefitted by everyone irrespective of their age, socio-religious, and cultural backgrounds.

We work with various sectors of the public through conducting special Yoga workshops, Yoga seminars, and Yoga classes to teach them many Classical Hatha Yoga practices such as Hatha Yoga (physical postures), Meditation, and Pranayama (proper breathing methods)

Alumni of the Annamalai University (Canada Campus) Yoga division can join the association and benefit from seminars and workshops. AYA also will also act as a stage to perform their various yoga disciplines such as Karma Yoga.

Yoga is truly a holistic method that can generate health and wellbeing at physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual levels.  Further, it is very well recognized by medical sciences as one of the powerful ways to improve a person’s health, or even to hasten the healing period after surgery or chemo. Because of this recognized benefit of Yoga, physicians often recommend chronic patients to complement their medication with Yoga. Having received the necessary knowledge and wisdom of the Yogic science through our Diploma study, and having witnessed to phenomenal changes to our own health through regular practice various Classical Yogic methods, we are very inspired and dedicated to sharing this knowledge with others.
